I've missed my 97 cobra ever since the day i sold it. Always told myself i never should have sold it! So yesterday i ended up picking up another one. But only a 96 Mystic Cobra. Ive been trying to get a Mystic for years now, but just waiting for the right one. It has a full built Hyland(SHM) 800hp engine, Vortech intercooled T trim, full fuel system, all tubular front end, built rear, all adjustable rear end suspension setup, coil overs f/r, PA C4, 4800 Stall converter, and tons more. On top of everything it only has 29,000 original miles with every document and reciept its whole life. The thing is a beast! Ive got some odds and ends yet to do to it. Cant wait to get it on the street.

VERY NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love that style.. Just a question.. Is that 800hp on the stock bottom end? If so can the bottom end be able to take that much..

Every time i work on a mystic cobra (any year) i always think i should go get one but than i look at all my unfinished projects and quickly decide against it.

the 4.6 motors take horsepower well , but if it is a shm motor i'm sure the bottom half is built.

It has a Sean Hyland Motorsport built block. That means forged crank, rods, pistons, etc. When he says 800 HP, that means the block is built to withstand up to 800 HP. A stock modular 4.6 can handle only about 450-500 HP before it starts throwing rods through the block. Most built modular short blocks are rated like this so the buyer can choose the appropriate block based on how much power they will be throwing at it. The more power you plan to make with the motor, the stronger it has to be built to withstand it reliably.

Anyhow, that is a sick ride. I bet it hauls the mail for sure, and looks great doing it. Should make for a beast of a car on the street.
