glowing exhaust

I am looking at an 01 raptor 660 with an odd problem. It has a hard start for 1 but when it starts it runs real rough & the exhaust gets glowing hot. Any insight????

I'm not an expert but I read threads on here all the time and it sounds to me like the jets are messed up and creating a lean condition which in turn would make the pipe glow.........WHICH IS BAD!!! Just my 2 cents. I'm sure others will chime in.

Valve adjustment + proper jetting should fix it. Any after market exhausts fitted ? Check out the carb too

my friend had the same problem with his 450r after installing a stage 2 hot cam, he had a main jet of 118 and moved all the way up to a 170 which isnt perfect but the glowing and rough running went away and it very rideable as is so try your jetting first before anything, ill bet that will fix it, its only glowing because of lack of fuel and you just need to size it up bigger, hope that helps!!!
