View Full Version : My SubFrame has probelms

When i was inspecting my 4wheeler after my last ride i found that my subframe was cracked where the seat latches down, and after taking it apart i found that it was really bent up too. I was just wondering how many other people on here have cracked or bent there subframe? also is there a gusset that i can get or make to make it stronger on the next one i buy? (i'm adding a pic, i put black marker on where it's broken at, it is cracked in the same place on both sides also)

I would straighten out as best as you can since from what I can see it doesnt seem that bent. Then gusset the subframe. I had the same problem and its what I did but I dont have pictures.

where did you put your gussets at on it?

i just found another crack right by where you would attach a flag to your grab bar, before i dropped it off at a friends house to be welded. (he's a professional welder but does jobs for friends in his spare time) long run i'm probly just going to replace the hole SubFrame with a later model but i need it for this friday . . . . . .so this will have to work for now.

is it in good shape? no cracks and isn't bent?

no my friend had a 03 z 400 and ruined his subframe and he bought this to replace it but never put it on the quad because he traded the quad ive had this thing laying around for like 2 years and always forget about.

what year frame is it? do you know? and you said it's powder coated not painted right?

its powdercoated and it was off a 03 z 400
