I think I want to replace my pipe with something else. I have a full Houser crf set up. Do I buy the pipe for a trx450 or a crf450 and will the mounting bolts line up?

Thanks

Houser is about as useful as t its on a boar. They don't even know what bearings the swingarm takes.

alot of guys are having luck with making the trx450r quad pipes work. Seems to me that's what was on my last laeger. i'm trying to remember what pipe is on that bike. I know the guy who owned it before you.

I always had the best luck with Rossier pipes, but I've known those guys a long time and they are close. I might be able to scare up a pipe for ya. Let me do some checking around...

I've actually got the Rossier on it right now. It's just so loud and obnoxious. Maybe I need the discs for the end to quiet it down.

I'm confused....you know the guy that owned the quad before me?...how?

A TRX450R pipe should just about bolt up directly.

The difference between the CRF header and the TRX is the angle it comes out and whether you have a different water pump cover. The CRF header needs a midpipe adapter to go onto the TRX silencer though.

Here's some pics - not a Houser but similar situation.

All together CRF and TRX can.

Ok, cool. I think I definately have the CRF header. I'll probably just keep it and look into getting the discs (quiet kit)

this maybe a silly question, but did you try re-packing the muffler? The packing has a tendency to burn and where out, making the pipe louder.

Pretty sure you bought that quad from Chris Casper- a little guy from wisconsin right?

I did repack it recently. Seemed to help a little.

Holy crap, I bought that quad from Chris like over 2 years ago...how did you remember that?

I've known Chris for a long time. Actually, before he re did that quad, it sat in my garage for a few months, because it was being ridden. And, even stranger- I actually saw you on that quad at glamis, from a couple of dunes away. I was with a bunch of my buddies, and we were going the other way. I wanted to stop and catch up and b.s. with ya, but we were going some place.

I go to glamis every year, always the week before of thanksgiving, and the week of thanksgiving. We always stay over of Ogilby Road.

Small world heh? Still running that same color scheme? I think he had the frame powdercoated a gold color

Yeah, I think you PMed me telling me you saw me out at Glamis 2 years past. The quad is definately a one of a kind. It turns heads everywhere I go. Worth every penny I spent. The thing rides like a dream also. I also camp at Ogilby regularly. You should let me know when you're gonna be out and maybe hook up and have a beer. Maybe take it for a ride for old times sake.

yup thats the quad. looks good just like i remember. I'm kinda suprised the re-packing didn't help. Not sure how to make it any quiter, except if you were to possibly put a spark arrestor on the back. Just a couple pieces of stainless steel mesh, doulbled up would help. I've seen some guys try that before too.

I'll I'll keep that in mind for ogilby. I go every year those two weeks, so I should be there. May be moving to washington state later this year, so I am kind of looking forward to getting to Coos bay Oregon and trying that too

yeah, you might be able to make the trx pipe work. in your case, seeing as how you ride a JB'd crf, I would just call him and ask. He is very knowledgeable, and might have something made already just for that kit, I know he sold enough of those conversion kit, and they worked excellent
