2004 400ex please help!!!!

ok well ill start off with wat happen,i took the cam chain tenchner out of my 2004 400ex and when i put it back in i didnt tighten it fully and the timming puts when running,so my dads buddy that works on bikes took it all part and we found out that nothing was hurt but my bike was running rich and there was lots of carbon on the pisten and the cilnder so my dads buddy orderd a wisco high compression pisten for my bike and rings. i was woundering what else i should do to it while its apart this 2004 400ex is all stock but pipe jet and filter.i was thinking about putting a hot cam or something in it.just tell me what u think i should do .oo yah im not raceing this bike

put a heavier cam chain in it. i think you can use the crf450 one.

thanks ill try that umm im thinking about going over to the honda store and buying parts ill buy the cam chain but what do u think about a aftermarket cam?

you could run a aftermarket cam. but i don't think the change will be as noticeable witout any major engine work done. also with that high compression piston you will possibly have to run race gas witch is expensive as hell!!! also the crf450r cam chain off the '06 model should work great!!!! ( i'm sure more crf450r years will fit to but that is what i used ) get a pipe while your out there.

ok thats what ill get the (06) one and umm i have some stuff for my 400ex witch are two brtohers raceing pipe,uni filter,two brothers jets,11:1 wisco high compresion pisten.and ill think ill hold off on the cam right now and maby i might try and find a aftermarket header for some more power? im ganna have to go out and order in some more stuff while my engines still open any other sagestions?im also thinking about painting the frame think i should keep it stock or go with something alittle more flashly? thanks for everyones help!

If you have the coin and have it apart anyway, stick a Stage 1 Hotcam in there. I plan on doing the same in the near future.

ok thanks ill loook into it and umm does anyone know what the paint code for the stock frome on the 2004 400ex ? and any other ideas on mods for my 400ex thanks!!
