Skid plate question?

Is anyone using/running skid plates? specifcally rear under the brake rotor and chain?

Also what about he full body and A-arms? don't do much rock riding but after the last outing a solid axle quad was deadlined for the day by hitting a rock in the mud and bending the rotor.

So suggestions??? or what are you guys running?

I have been riding heavy rutted/rocked trails for over 2 years now and i have never hit the front a-arms or the rear. I have thought about getting front a-arm guards just to see if it helps to get through the mud and snow better, but that's about it.
BTW my bike came with the basic heavy plastic guard underneath and back a-arms.
