cannondale4life
06-01-2009, 08:21 PM
thanks, well i sanded it from 150 up to 2000 grit and then used the mothers mag/aluminum polish and polished it to a chrome finish and a couple hours of riding it ended up looking discolored, but i think it looks better like that anyway lol

i think i had a list of the stuff i was polishing but never took the finished pictures but I had stuff polished decent. I ended up sandblasting and re-polishing parts and then painting my sprocket guard which doesnt match anything with the red it is. w/e though it looks better than stock grey.

cases look sharp! i finished the polishing with a Mothers power cone (like the power ball but way better. i love this thing.) i did mine after i painted the motor black.. that really sets the polishing off. here's a dirty picture of the motor:

by the way... i WANT your CF exhaust shield. almost bought one this winter on ebay but didnt have the extra cash.

your bike is gorgeous, doesn't look "cheap" like stickers often make a quad look. well done sir.

believe it or not it's vinyl; the only decent looking CF-imitation vinyl i've ever found. got it at Meijer in the automotive section actually.

yeah, i was gonna run another strip, but it wouldnt cover the whole panel and you'd see the break line... so i opted not to.

anyways... nice job on the polishing, haha. :D

You need to do your wheels like bbender did his. If I had those type of wheels, I'd do the same.

i used a dremel; a 320 grit sandpaper flap wheel, then some polishing compound with a polishing bit.
