So I was out four-wheeling today and trying to climb these really steep hills. Made the first one easy and went to the second one. I made it the first time but noticed my tires were kinda outside the track because my axle is widened. I went up the second time and there it went. I ROLLED her about 4-5 times and it only landed on me once thankfully. But now, of course, I get to fix it. The steering stabilizer broke off and shot through the oil pan or the thing where you add oil to the quad. Anyone know if I should fix that myself, or take it to a dealer, and how much would the parts run at.

Thanks!

Post up a picture of the damage if possible. Glad you are still ok.

Well all that I have right now is a cell phone camera. Would that work to see the damage? Plus I already took the steering stabilizer off so I need to replace the oil tank now.

If it's just the oil tank that busted, I think you can do it yourself with some basic hand tools. You might be able buy a used one from someone here that has upgraded to a larger oil tank.

If you decide to buy a new oil tank, you could buy another stock honda one, or buy a larger aftermarket one.

like most said just a few hand tools and you should be good, since it done that I would check the lines and such to make sure it didnt pull on any and put tears in them.

Sorry this happend it sucks when it happens, but whats funny about it is when it happens to me I always jump up worried about my quad lmao.

You're not the on one! When you work your *** off to have a clean and well built quad, you care about it as much if not more than you care about yourself.

A broken leg will repair by itself, your quad wont! :macho

HAHA no kidding. The reason I wrecked is because I wheelied at the top and as I was headed the other way down the hill :D I just hung onto my quad. Didnt wanna let it go!! As we reached the bottom I jumped up and checked it out and was not happy after what I saw!!

30 shipped seems reasonable to me for something used.

Which 450?

I think thats awful low, probably will cost 10-15 to ship, I think 45 + s&h is about average.

Shipping is 12.99 I would send a max bid around $25.01 or so towards the last 24hrs if there is no bid on it. ya might win it for asking price. If there is anyone bidding on it I would wait till last minute and bid something around $40 $45ish shipped but thats me. Look at it more like this, whats it worth to get your quad running again? lol

There $76 brand new from servicehonda.com

rob_990
06-04-2009, 03:51 PM
if u want.or you can just put a maximum bid on so itll automatically outbid the other person if there higher than you

Ryan'07400ex
06-04-2009, 05:14 PM
If you want to make sure you get it, you could put like 50 in but if nobody bids then you would still get it for 13 or as low as the last bid.
ex someone bids 20 and you would have the lead still with 21

Honda4LifeWes36
06-04-2009, 05:38 PM
But you can put a max bid in for like forty so if they go over that, your out??

If I understand what you are asking then yes if they bid more than your max you may lose unless you go back b4 end of auction and bid higher. IS that what you mean.
you can bid as much or as many times as you like.

Yeah ebay uses a proxy bid system meaning if you bid $30 your bid will show at the min of .99 that its at right now.

When someone els bid's it auto out bids them by the min bid (usually by $1) until it reaches your $30 limit then it stops bidding. You can bid again at anytime to either put in another bid or simply to raise your max proxy bid.

I'm gonna have one of my buddies weld it to save a bit more money..

Since I'm not an Ebay expert..

Honda4LifeWes36
06-08-2009, 11:48 AM
Is welding it okay??

Honda4LifeWes36
06-09-2009, 01:14 PM
Well I did it anyway and now we will see how well it holds the oil lol. The Fo Hundy is back in action besides the fact that it needs oil :D!!

bigbad400
06-09-2009, 04:06 PM
welding would be fine except that depending were its at it could cause inaccurate oil level reading, its not like you had to weld 2 halfs together was it? as long as its just a hole it should be fine to weld it make sure it dont leak thow!!!
