Hey ya'll I have been looking and looking and finally found a good deal on a scooped maier hood im wondering what is the reason with them that you have to remove the light? Why does it matter if the light is there. Also pics would be apreciated as I want to try and install one of these with the light if anyone has one on with the light please tell me how lol.

As someone telling is always easier than fabbing it up lol.

I'm pretty sure they will all fit with the light still on there. It's just that the hood actually covers the light up, defeating the purpose of the light. I have seen some people use the older style Quad-tech's, and just trim the back a little so it doesn't cover the light up. I don't think this could be done with the Maier, because it has a pointed nose. The Quad-tech is rounded.

Quad-tech makes a vented hood that is made to work with the light.

heres a picture of my maier hood. it would have covered up the stock lights quite a bit, but i'm sure you could make it work with a few modifications. I just went ahead and bought the trailtech handlebar lights which i love.

hmm hmm hmm lol

Just for a FYI its not for me its my bro in law he been busy lately and all with a new baby on top of 2 younger ones. I found a hood just like the one in the pic for $15 and figured hey if it will fit would be something to class up is bike and be awesome!! wishing I could use one lmao.

But we ride at night sometimes and he cant loose the light and he dont have the money to buy new ones. It might be worth buying it to see if it would if not im sure I could get my $15 back out of it.

For $15, I would say go for it. Throw it up on ebay if it doesn't work, and you will probably still make a little money off of it.
