thought you guys might like to know that roll design is in the process of making footpegs again. i talked to them on friday. the 88/89 style will be done in about three weeks (they are currently being cast). the 86/87 style will be done sometime after. the price will be 199 retail. forgot to ask if they will be flat or with the kick up.

I also found out the IMS Roll TRX450R pro stock series nerf bars bolt right up on my R. :D

will these be black powdercoat like the new style ones, or stainless like the old style?

Did they say they are bringing them back or is this a limited run?

i did not get the specifics on the pegs. currently i have 2 brand new sets of unmounted pegs. the 86/87 are powdercoated gray with chrome. the 88/89 are black with chrome. both sets were purchased from white brothers in 2001.

i would asume that these are going to be a limited run. my best guess is maybe 50 sets. due to being a cast part

I called IMS Roll to get the specifics on this reproduction of the pegs. They currently have the 88/89's in production. They will be available in approximately two weeks. The 86/87 version will be shortly after. IMS will then evaluate the demand vs. supply. If there is enough demand, they will rerun another.

They do not offer the polished finish on their pegs anymore, they will be available in matte black finish and they are the kickup version. The cost is $199.00 a set.

Since I have received so many questions on the Nerf Bars, here is some pictures I took. I also shared with IMS that these particular IMS nerf bars for TRX450R bolt up with a tubular frame. Only thing needed would be a more "square" ubolt with two 90 degree angles rather than a "U" for the bolts and they should bolt right up to the R. At least they did on my Aren's stock replacement frame.

I took a couple pictures for you to see what I am talking about.

How far apart are the front tubes on the nerf from the peg mount. I have a roll quad that i am trying to get some nerfs for. I would really like to know if these will fit that frame as i would like to use roll nerfs since the frame is roll.

The silver mounting bar slides and there is room for probably give or take 2" of adjustability. I wrote IMS an email explaining this. For OEM frames, it would only need a bolt with angles instead of "U", then it would hold flush against OEM R frames. It's easily doable.

If not, just sell them or return them. ATV Galaxy has better prices.

PART PRICE: $199.95
PART NUMBER: 702206

Good luck with your Build!

I am with you. I have no intrest in footpegs unless I can get heel gaurds to go with them. I wish they would make a footpeg/heel guard/nerf combo again. (Although it looks like danhung has the nerf thing figured out, just need the heel guards.)

For the roll frame the front nerfs mounts are integrated into the frame so i cant use the center bar that bolts to the frame with u bolts. Thats why i needed the measurments lol. So if you could do that i would really appreciate it.

The center of horizontal tube to contact with ims peg is exactly 15".

If you look close, there is actually three holes to mount to either stock or aftermarket pegs. As an fyi, these best fitting nerfbars I have ever owned. That's not saying much since I have only had AC Racing Nerfbars on my past quads.

Let me know if you need more measurements.

Dan

UPDATE:roll design had manufacturing problems getting the 86/87 heal guards made. basically we are out of luck. a roll design rep told me that they lost interest in getting the 86/87 style pegs made. we need to call them up and voice our opinions/needs.

i have original first run ims pegs and ims heels guards that might be for sale. NIB from 03 taking offers. these were mounted just for test purposes. i can email pics

i will have my own designed heel guards that will bolt onto either stock or ims pegs for sale by the end of the year(email for details)

email me if interested (for details)

Roll wants 239 for the pegs because they did a smallish run so they're more than they normally should be... I can get them out for a good amount less though. They have told me they're going to place another order for the 88-9 so that's good news. My feeling is that if the 88-9 were selling better, they would push harder on the 86-7, but they haven't been moving very fast. I tried to advertise on ebay, but didn't have as much interest as I expected. The best way to keep parts in the market is if people are buying them.

It's really cool that Roll decided to go through the trouble to find a fabricator to make TRX pegs again. If only Honda would do the same. You don't have to buy them from me, but if you think people would want them, get the word out that they're back in the market and get them to place the order to Roll.

This is probably old news to you guys, but I'm looking at Chapparral catalog #83, and those pegs are offered on page 230.

Ok, Paige at Roll as said they would be interested in overcoming their tooling issues for the 86-7 pegs if they got enough orders. I placed a poll in my site if you're interested in weighing in on a pre-order list. If enough people want them, cool, if not, none will be made. I don't want to create a link because I don't want to offend the exriders owners. That's all I can think of to do for the effort.

you can get a set of 450r pegs on ebay for 150-190, how hard do think that would be to make work on a 86-87. I figured i could make mounting tabs or cut the plate off the stock 86-87's and weld on the 450's ????? I think I'm gonna try it

I just got a set of 450 IMS pegs and heel guards for 62 bucks. The guards are a bit rough. But for 62 dollars I couldn't go wrong.
I'll be working on fitment write up first of the year.
