hot rods part number 4073 for the crankshaft 295.96 retail
je pistons 12.5 to 1 piston std bore part number 247957
don't forget to get bearings and your gaskets and seals and be sure to do the oil mod and high flow oil pump too. no sense in spending that much money to not make it last.

the je piston i was lookin at said 12.5/13.5 so that would mean with the 06 crank it would be 13.5 and that would be high for pump gas....so was goin to get the 05 crank and the 12.5 piston

the crank # makes it a 450 and the piston # is one for the 06 and up so its a 12.5 number. i wouldn't go real high on compression if you don't need to. race fuel is expensive as hell--o now.. but heres a link to je's page for all the 2006-2009 449cc pistons.

Put the WR kit in. all stock Yamaha parts and VERY reliable. Do the oil mod and replace all bearings you can (cam, crank bearings) and timing chain. Never had a reason for the hi flow but if you got the money then why not, couldn't hurt. I did the oil mod at home, very simple with basic tools.

My advice would be to use OEM Yamaha parts. If you get the 06 OEM YFZ crank your motor will have the same crank setup as the 08. If you use the WR setup their pistons won't fit standard YFZ cranks because of the different wristpen sizes. There's really no benefit going with the dirtbike crank now adays.
