homemade PRO PEGS..damn near free!!

pro pegs- so easy a caveman could do it.
or how about.... pro pegs- so easy a yami rider could do it!

don't know if anyone has done this (i am sure someone has)but i have never seen it so i thought i would show it.

got 450r pegs a while back and got them on and the old 400ex pegs were always laying on the bench in my way. and since no one really wants a old set of 400ex pegs,(no luck on selling a 5 dollar part) i thought i might as well make use of them. so i made some "pro pegs" out of them. it was simple as it gets. cut off the end, where the bolts are and grind it smooth.. clamp it where you want it and drill one hole per side and bolt it on. simple.

rode around for about an hour and they seam really strudy just with the 2 bolts (grade 8).. nice and wide for my boot. all and all a great cheap mod. and i doubt i would ever break the bolts.

I dont mind being a bit narrow honestly im working my body so much my feet are on my nerfs more than my pegs.

I would like to make me a set of extenders and weld on with sume uprights. since I run heal guards I cant go wider lol.

nice work, those look awesome. I made some a couple of years ago that were just extended 1/8th in. plate and i added kick ups to the ends but my extensions are on the front sides of the pegs. i got some on ebay and welded the tabs on. they work really nice with my nerfs and such. i like these thanks for the pics. I never even thought of doing it that way. steve

you could also take a dremel to the teeth and make them sharper to. I did it it worked.

yeah i thought about welding on a kick up on the end of the peg, but i like beening able to have my foot flat on the nerfs and pegs. just what i like, and i also thought about taking a grinder to the points on the pegs but i don't honstly think my red wings would know the difference...lol

i also like having a narrower pegs. but after a few jumps i don't think i will ever go back.

Yeah I know I turn my foot out I wish I could make it about 2 inches longer with kick ups lol. wider would be good I would love it but I dont wanna remove my heal guards.

Anyone have any thoughts on that?

snipe i looked at a photo of your 400, i am thinking with a little cutting and tinkering you could come up with something, cut the heal guard/move it back a bit, move your nerfs forward, (might have to make a custom mount for the front mount of the nerf) you could get something to work. guess it comes down to your fab skills, and willingness to modify your parts/quad.

i did the exact same thing like 2 years ago lol, 450r pegs for 99 cents off ebay, then welded my stock 400ex pegs on back.. i loved it

Thoughs dont allow for heal guards or nerf bars if I drilled them to accept them with the cutouts on them I think they would fail. there suppose to making a new one instead of the vspike its just the spike that fixes this we will see.

I could do it on the fab work it wouldnt be to hard to cut some brackets out and move things forward. I just dont like the idea of giving $50 for a piece of wrap around metal for the maxi's lol.

If I cant find anything I might end up just buying a set of 450R pegs grinding teeth or making my own maxi's and getting them to fit.

I will make everything work. Im gonna put the heel guards on along with some ac nerfs for a warrior I got.
