2001 Rm 250?????

Looking to buy a friends CLEAN, like new. 2001 Rm 250, lots of new parts, all stock parts come with it, FMF woods pipe, Hinson clucth basket, Pro taper bars, bark busters, tripple clamp, skids, radiator gaurd, flywheel weight, IMS oversize slim tank, New plastic/graphics/seat cover, new top end. It has low hrs on it rode very little. It is set up for woods bike. I ride dirt bikes some, but still rides quads too. He wants $3400 for dirt bike??? Is that a good deal?? I offered $3000, he said NO!! Taking it to the woods today to test ride it. Is this a good woods bike?? I only have $3500 0r less to spend, so can not buy a new bike.

I believe that you could pick up a very nice 01 RM250 for $3,000 easily. All dirtbikes, except for the big four strokes, seem to be going pretty cheap right now - especially the RM and KX lines. I would look around before committing - even if it is a nice bike you might be able to save a good bit of money. :)

my dad is selling his 01 RM250. FACTORY SUZUKI engine work! Race tech suspension, IMS oversize tank, steahly flywheel weight, FMF SST pipe, FATTY pipe, stock head if u dont wanna run race gas, stock tank, some NEW pistons to go with it, FMF Graphijcs, this bike is soooooo gorgeous and he cant sell it for 2500!!!

$2500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I rode the 2001 RM today, Its sweeeeeeeet! , It has so much power!!!!!!!! This bike is loaded, tons of stuff on it, and it has very low hours. He still wants $3400 for it. Alittle high, but Its sooooooooo clean. Send me pics of yours for $2500..... and a list of mods, was it raced, how long was it raced?? extra parts??

I also have an 00' Rm250 for sale for $2500. Has about $2000 in aftermarket parts and about another $2000 into the motor to make it race ready. Drop me an Email if you're interested...

2k in the motor? what could u do to invest that much? a full race rpm big bore kit isnt that much

The guy I bought it from got it all ready to be raced and spent a bunch of money on it, but got a job that makes him travel constantly.

He had PR racing in Toledo totally rebuild the engine. New crank, rod, piston, all bearings, full Hinson clutch, Hinson power valve.

He then had them take the stock motor and match the cases, port it, modify the head, ect...

He said the total bill with labor came to about $2500, but I think that is a little bit of an exxageration, so that's why I put $2000.


Bike also has full Pro-Action suspension, Pro-Circuit pipe/silencer, TAG stuff, RENTHAL stuff, APPLIED RACING stuff, WORKS CONNECTION stuff, DUNLOP tires, EXCEL rims, FACTORY EFFEX graphics, and some more stuff.

It's a nice bike! But I am wanting a 4-stroke for the woods I ride.

If anyone wants some current pictures, let me know. The ones i have are too big to post here. It is MUCH better looking than the pic I posted!

in 2002 suzuki basically reinvented the rm250 and it was a much better machine. you could get a used 2002 rm250 for around $3500 or on ebay you could get a new one (2003) for $4300 buy it now. don't give him over $2500 for a 2001. if i were you i would get a yz250, 2002 or newer rm250, 2002 or newer cr250, or a 2003 kx250.

Going to keep the CR for a few yrs, then after I buy the "NEW" Honda quad, and get it paid for , then I might look for a clean used CRF 4 stroke. I do not want to kick start a 4 stroke , ( me LAZY!!!!) so thats why I got the CR, also Not alot of cheap used 4 strokes out there. They are all to new......... and cost alot. Its so fun to ride your quad, then hop on your bike and make the same loop though the woods.
