View Full Version : please help removing front brake hub?

I want to replace my front brake rotor but i cant seem 2 figure out how to remove the hub? I already removed the wheel and the locking nut and cotter pin and i also already removed the hex bolts that hold the rotor on, but im stuck on exactly how 2 get that damn hub off so i can replace the rotor. here are some pics of what i mean!! Thanks 4 any input!!

Check the how to's it seems like this was on there

get a rubber mallet it will come off.gently tape on it.

i checked the how to's and i couldnt find anything, and i tried to pull and pull and pull but it wont budge and i even tried the rubber mallot but it wont slide off!! im confused i dont know if i have to take the dust seals off then the side collars but they dont seem 2 wana budge eitherv and i really dont wana ruin them!

there is not much else we can tell you...except leave the castle nut off, remount your wheel and hit your tire with the rubber mallet...

hey just alil update i got my left 1 off with no prob, it just slid right off and i finally got my right 1 off last night!! It was a lil rusty but the pb loosened it up and i was able 2 finally get it off wit the rubber mallot!! i put a lili royal purple grease on the shaft be4 i slid the hubs back on, that should help 4 the next time i take it off. thanx guys 4 the help!!!!!

antiseezies might work better than grease.
