well after a few years of not having anything to ride, i've decided enough is enough. so I started searching the local classifieds and came accross a 1981? atc250r. I know its old as hell, but it's only $500 and the guy said it runs great and isn't in bad shape except for faded plastics with a slight crack in the front plastic. Im going check it out next weekend (its about a 2 1/2 hour drive). anyone know anything about these things or have any input?? thanks neil

I believe those 250r's were Aircooled with a metal tank. Just make sure you look over it real well, maybe even take a peek inside the tank if you get a chance.

chain is on the opposite side of conventional one 81-84 share the same motor but 81-82 had a pretty scary chassi 83-84 arent bad but neither compare to the 85-86 the top end is the same as a 79 cr 250

heres a 83-84 i re did a few yrs ago shes kinda beat now but doesnt look too bad

ok will offer $300. I'd rather not get anything that my friend on his stock 400ex will smoke me... I mean I knows it a thousand years old, but you know how that goes lol

well to be honest unless ur just trying to race in a straight line, a stock 400 will prob. beat you. I dont know if you ever tried riding a 3 wheeler......good luck, lol they are tough to ride aggresively
