how to get more power out of a 300ex

i was wondering what i should do to get ore power out of a 02 honda 300ex.besides the exhaust.

your wallet is the limit, first things come to mind. High compression piston, porting, cam, fcr carb and exhuast. Another way that might be cheaper and easier is put in a atc350x motor and modify a 400ex exhaust. It nearly bolts into the 250x/300ex chassis. Then also, you could bore/stroke the 300ex motor to almost 380.

Money is the limit on how powerful you can make it. Racers used to bore/stroke a 250x/300ex motor to ~380, replace reverse and modify tranny to use a 350x 6th gear, they made alot of power that way. TC, Curtis Sparks and Mickey Dunlap are the ones to talk to about making a 4 stroke motor cook. Anybody who raced/around racing in the 80's knows about how fast those 3's 200x's were. Later on, they built 350x's up to 550cc's and made almost 70 horses.

well you going to get the biggest bang for your buck with exhuast and airbox work but the heads on the 250x was restrictive and now with the 300ex it chokes even more power get your selve a nice port job with a high comp piston or big bore kit thats whrere your going to find the great gains for the cash
