You would more than likely have to get your stator rewound to handle the extra load that is produced by the fan(s) and make mounting tabs on the radiator.
How hot is yours running?

they do make in line temp gauges, so you can see what temp it is. does it boil over and blow water out the overflow tube? I live in one of the hottest places in the USA (120+), and mine doesn't get too hot in the summer. do you have a good anti freeze mix or a water wetter in your cooling system?

i might get a temp gauge but it doesnt boil over when it gets hot

If it doesn't boil over then, it's not getting too hot!normally but there could be exceptions here. A gauge will give you peace of mind though!

An oversize radiator is the way to go.
Some are massive at 2x normal, some are just 25% more capacity.
Jon370R has hooked up a fan to his and stated he used a YFZ450 fan. I've looked at the 450R and Z400 and both are too big for the 250R.
I inquired about a custom radiator and got a quote for $500.

i did the same thing. designed a 3X capacity dual pass rad to go up front further between the foremost frame rails and "ron davis racing" quoted me at $621. no way. PWR is the way to go

jon370r: can you post pics of the fan set up? what and how is it wired? what as far as parts and fabrication is required

I can't say 100% sure, but based on measurements, I can't see how a stock 450R fan could fit - it's just too big.

The YFZ fan is much smaller and works great. Call either Baja Designs or Trail Tech and they can set you up with a DC voltage regulator to run the fan with. I wired mine to my headlight switch so I could turn it on/off.

the 400ex boys use a Spal 4" puller. Might be too small tho. Whats the diameter of a YFZ fan?
