Protec skids ,what kinda steel are they

Hey yall, I know that Protec skids are made from stainless steel, but what kind of stainless steel, the kinds ive seen arent shiny at all. So what kind of steel are they made of, i wanna get some made myself.:D

When you get a pro-tect skid new they come with some sort of grey/silver finish on them. I am not sure what it is but it isn't bare metal and it's not paint.

You can polish stainless steel and it gets amazingly shiny. It looks like chrome. It is also better than aluminum because it holds it's shine alot longer. A member on here, Ex'rMarlin has polished his pro-tect skid. You might want to talk to him about it.

I think their skid plates where tumbled in some kind of media to remove the sharp burrs and edges, which gave the stainless steel a duller textured look.
