Break In before mods?

Does anyone here have any insight as to how many hours I should get on my quad before I start doing mods?

I've heard differing opinions and would also like to hear some of yours.

I would go ten hours...change oil
ten more hours and an oil change then add your mods
Breakdown
20 hours and 2 oil changes using only GN4 oil to break it in.
Switch to mobil 1 15/50 synthetic after.

Sounds reasonable. Does this apply only to internal mods, or pipes, filters, jets, etc., as well?

I have a Sparks filter and jets sitting in the garage now... and an HMF slip on en route to my house. I'm a bit impatient and would like to get to installing as soon as possible.

I would put any non-internal mod after the first change.
Internals after the second.
ALWAYS use genuine honda oil for breakins.
I ALWAYS use mobil 1 15/50 synthetic after that too keep the temps down.
