first off, you DO NOT want an 04 or 05...just because they were the "begining of the yfz problems"...i would go 07 or newer...just so you already get the updated oil pump and jet...ive got an 05 but i have an 06 motor on it...haven't had any problems...the crank bearings go out in the 04-05s...just so you know...i'd keep the 2fiddy...

The crank bearings are all the same in 04, 05, 06, & 07. They changed them in 08. And for the record... I'm running my exact same bearings in my bike as the day I purchased it back in Feb. of 2004. Check to see what upgrades the bike has. My 04 is basically the same as a 06/07 except for the shock mount. If it doesn't have the oil mod that can be done for $200.

Keep the 250R and just buy a used YFZ the 250R to me is a collectors quad and plus they are fun as hell. Keep the 250r what ever you do. Id recomend getting a 07+.
