What have you heard about these two brands? Are they the best skid plates available, if not, what is? Which skid plate on the market is near bulletproof?

Employee or not, I will ALWAYS run Pro Armor Skids on my quad! I can’t count the number of times they have saved me from having to spend A lot of money replacing parts!

03Pete- If you look JR3 (the member who started that forum) has been taken care of, just as we do with all our customers who have any kind of issues.

GT Thunder makes good belly pans, similar to the Tag. PRM makes the better aluminum product to me

as far as a swinger skid...i am partial to the armadillo ones from rocky mt atv...they are .250 thick which is the minimum i would go for a swinger skid and are alot cheaper than the rest of them, just not as finished...which quite frankly, to me, is not a big deal as they are on the underneath of the machine and are gonna get banged up anyway...

i have had riccochet and prm frame skids and can't really say if one is better than the other...i think they all protect just as well and price would be the only difference...i think i am wanting to try one of the poly skids though...actually i am looking to buy some through work and cut it to size and shape...i am just waiting for the pricing on a piece of it

Pro armor. Not only do they protect, they are in my opinion the best looking skids out there. (not that it matters as they are for protection, but when they make the bike look cool its an added bonus!) :D

PRM is the toughest skids I have used. I have their frame and swingarm skid. The swingarm skid is .250(1/4") and holds up to some SERIOUS abuse. Pro Armor also makes a 1/4" swingarm skid, but I have just not used it. I hear they hold up well also. Either one would be a great choice.

I am running a full belly skid on my 08YFZ from HalaDog. It is like the Tag Railer. I ran the 10 hour in Iowa and several GNCC's without issue. It seems to slide right over rocks and roots, but still shows almost no wear and I have more than 20+ hours on it.

Check it out at www.haladog.com
