Not going, but ride there every once in a while. How far do you live from Wellsville ?

We're hitting Bear Creek by Canton on Sunday. I'm leary about Wellsville, I've almost been taken out a few times by buggies/jeeps/trucks flying around with no care in the world.

Definitely not a place for a beginner. When I do go up there I try & go on a weekday.

I've been there 3 times. It's nice that you can ride when ever, but it sucks there is no one there that runs the place and keeps the riff raff out or down to a minimum. There were so many drunk retards when I was there. Not to mention just stupid people doing stupid stuff.

i understand everyones comments. i onle live and hour and a half away from there. it has to be one of the wildest places in the country to go riding. the yellow creek area is somewhat under control from all the madness. expierenced riders only.

There are some hill climbs there that I would have to actually see someone make before they told me they did. There are hill climbs there that I would'nt go down, let alone go up. lol

LBJ is from Bath. I don't consider that Akron. :) I'm from Mogadore, few miles east of Akron.

beaver Pa to hilsville is 34 min...Its got it all man. Tons of trails but the catch is parking your car. If your vechile is parked on the grounds you could be causght for a 500 dollar fine.:grr: luckily, I know a man who lives there.:D

Is the Forbidden Zone in Wellsville still open ? I heard a rumor they were going to close it. The last time I was there was in Feb.

there is always rumers about wellsville shutting down. the truth is it will never be shut down. i was there today. the forbidden zone is just a very small part of property that someone leases and charges you to camp there even though there is a million other places to camp for free

Good, I'll have to get back up there soon. Did you have to pay to ride & sign a waiver ? When we went , we did'nt see anyplace to do that.

well i didnt camp in the forbidden zone this time but last year i did and you had to sign waivers. i would recommend going into the yellow creek area and camp somewhere in that area. it is free and no waivers or paperwork

That's the Hammondsville exit off of rt7 right, that's the way we always go in. There's another way in, but don't know where that one is. I guess that explains why we never had to pay. LOL

yes the exit is right off of 7 but dont know if it was the hammondsville. there is a old beat up road that runs right inbetween rt 7 and the river. it is directly across the river from mountaineer casino. there is a white sign that says like OLG(maybe) in red letters. you will also see like a big white building with some silo looking things.

There was a little rest area at the hammondsville exit. That's the only landmark I remember, but oh well it's the same place. ha ha
