Im thinking about getting into it, but theres one problem... Im 6' 4" and still growing. Am I too tall for BMX?

What size frame should I look for? Ive heard about 21" tt frames working fine for tall people.

What about frames? What are some frame brands/companies to stay away from? Which ones are the most popular?

Im trying to keep the price range as low as possible too.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Im kind of etting into it too.
21" would be good but I dont really think your height would be a problem. I like small frames. just make sure your bars clear yor knees.
I wish I knew as much about bmx as I do now when I first started. Buy a FIT! spend the money now, it will be worth it. you can spend 600 on a complete bike with a signature frame or you can spend 400 on just the frame... so yeah thats your best bet. You can always build the bike up later. I have a gay old diamond back and I so wish I had a fit. Get either the aitken or the delarosa. If you dont want to spend that money then get a lesser version of the fit street.
BMX is so fun(even though I suck lol) if im not riding my quad im riding my bike.

Probably mainly dirt jumping. We have a dirt park near my house with a bunch of jumps and stuff. I brought my mountain bike there, but the bike is too big for that stuff lol.

I read the topic and went and aired up the tires on my old 20inch ride. lol. My legs feel it now! Yeah, I'm 6'4". Let's say that shorter people will have a definate advantage on you. Did I mention I have bad knees. Holy crap I overdid it.

I feel like an outcast...I rode, and still have, my black Dyno NSX 20". I heard it everywhere I went what a POS my bike was. I took 1 state championship in the rookie class. 2 state and 1 NBL championship in novice, and went pro when I was 16, I took state and NBL that year as well. Then I got my drivers license bought a '69 Charger and that was the end of my BMX life. I found cars are much faster then bikes. :) I still mess around on my bike from time to time. Thought about getting back into it, but I don't think I have it anymore. I'm happy knowing I went out on top. :D

I never had any problems with the frame on my bike. I went through countless amounts of rims, headsets, handlebars, pedels, cranks and bearings. I was 6'1" and about 125lbs when I was 12...I was about 150lbs when I was 16.

Here's a pic of the beast. I tore that handle grip the last tripple of the last main of the 2002 NBL championship. That torn handle grip is sentimental to me, I can't bring myself to replace it. :)

And something to remember the good times by. I have another box of t-shirts, leather jackets, riding pants, medals, placks, and a bunch of other stuff I won in my 4 years racing.
