I was at the supercross in Indy 2 years ago and we were walking down town and passed a place called The Angry beaver. Needless to say it wasn't what I expected.

I'm not going to lie though Pappy. Those are good beaver shots but I have defenatley seen better beaver in my day.

Ok Ok...enough of the Beaver:p

I wanted to check out a spot to see if something had taken over a nest i found about 1/2 built a week or so ago. The Beavers swarmed us when we were leaving and I couldnt resist:p

The nest has Osprey's in it.

The wind hit my boat hard and I went in alot faster in a drift then I wanted to. The male came in about the same time so I missed the shot sort of:p

He flew around then went and sat in a tree across the lake, she never left

I will set up on these guys before daylight a few days over the coming weeks and work them and also catch the parents bringing in fish for the chicks

My battery in my momarsh was all but dead, and I snapped a shot at another nest. There is an Osprey in the nest and one perched in a tree to the right.

Most folks feelings of their first wet beaver are mixed with confusion and astonishment...my advice...just go with it:devil:

again, some great shots.. IMHO, the beavers were better than the birds but all are good.(naturally :D )

edit: i suspect its a great time for nature shots. after all, 'tis the season to be "twitterpated".

I know the first time I handled a wet beaver I was a little nervous . Many questions I asked ... Will it bite me? How do I pet it? Are they always this wet or do they ever get dry? Does it come in different colors or is brown it's natural color? But after my first time handling one .... I was not nervous anymore. :D

Just keep in mind Greg, they are a wild animal and no matter how much you think they may be domesticated or used to being handled, one can turn on you!

I learned that quickly one day. I was feeding the beaver a big stick and the damn thing turned wild and became very possessive. It made a wierd noise , it's eyes got real big and started moving around like it was gunna lunge at me. I booked it out of there fast before it got me. I never work with beavers unless they've been tested for rabies.

BTW , I'm still trying to find the picture of me working with the beavers...... I'm sure a few guys are thinking I'm full of crap, but I worked at a Science Center and got to work with Beavers. All my experiences that I'm sharing are REAL !!!:p

You better find the pics, from where I am sitting, it sounds like you played with your stick and no beavers were around:chinese:

LOL . The stick was too big ... the beaver couldn't handle it.

Edit. I used to have the picture hosted on Image Station , but apparently they shut down. I posted it here a few years back. I've got it in a photo album downstairs somewhere I'll have to try and find it and snap a pic of it.

Some of the beaver advice could be applied in other ways. This might not be a bad thread after all. :D
