I would be a PITA, all the brackets and I think even the fuel tank is different so I would say no.

big luke is talking out of his arse... it is an easy change over...go to a website like alba action that has a parts microfiche...you will need:
choose a 2005 400ex as your model, then front fender assembly...on that pic, the only bracket you need is number 12...all of the rest are the same...

i have a 2000 with newer stock fronts and also maiers

I think he was probably talking about the '09 plastics, which are entirely different.

I was talking about the '09 plastic. 05-08 wouldnt be hard to install, 09 WOULD. So NO I wasnt talking out of my arse.....

read his post...he said "since they are similar to 450r plastics"...hmmm...that would tell me that he is not asking about 09 plastics but 05-07...think a little about what is written

i know that 09's are totally different...

Quick question everyone who has replied, since this is such a common question and a pretty big mod that alot of ppl like to do why dont someone just make a post on step by step with pics on how to do this? would make a good sticky and help alot of ppl out.

I would myself but I have an 08 so I can only put 09 plastics on and then it would look identical with less scratches lol

gee, i am sorry...did i hurt someone's feelings?

"talking out your/his/her/my arse" is not an insult. it is merely a way of saying someone is giving the wrong info...if this offended you, then you will not have a good experience on this site...what i brought was mild and entertaining and comical(to me) for about 2 seconds...and quite honestly, i laughed at the teeny bopper comeback of the year..."douche"...especially when that pm asking me to quit and then "insulting" me again with it...this was after you, in effect, said "yep, i was wrong"...had you just left it at that...i wouldn't have felt the need go any farther, BUT ya had to say you weren't talking out of your buttocks...guess what...ya gave incorrect info so therefore ya were talkin' out ya heiny...and if it weren't bad enough ya had to get all pee pee about it...

not that it matters, but i have been on atv's longer than you have been alive...

I wish there was a way to get the 450R tank on as I do love that. Instead of having plastics cover the tank just have the tank as the plastic.

What do you mean?

the gas fumes permeate through the plastic tank causing the adhesive to degrade...i had good luck with my tank graphics on the 450r...they last about a year and a month...most don't stay on that long...
