you own a 400ex, you will lose sooner or later :p
you should be able to take him if you get a good start. remeber bout the only thing working against you is weight.

You'll get him out the hole for sure. You have 4 times the surface contact on your tires as he does with the ground.

In most cases dirt bike beats atv with most class sizes.

i pulled a guy with a 300 cc dirt bike the other weekend, not sure what it was but he had a good lead and i reeled him in by 4th gear.

dont worry about the big atvs either, the big 4wd pigs are slow. my buddy has an 800 cc can am that ive fed many times

its all about power to weight ratio!! a dirt bike doesn't have as much power but it has half the weight. a 4x4 has lots of power and weight so even though its got balls you won't notice it. what you want is a nice light chassis with a full blown power house in it and you can't lose unless your an idiot.

not true, quads are tuned down compared to dirtbikes. why do you think people want a crf engine in their 400ex or 250r frames? so in reality,a stock quad to a stock dirtbike of the same cc. the dirtbike has both the more power and less weight over the quad.

the dirtbike has both the more power and less weight over the quad

so it has a higher power to weight ratio! therefore it wins the race!
you just disagreed with me and then said the same thing I did in different words:huh

LOL

race machines yes, but the dr200 is in a very low state of tune. its like an oversized moped.

you should be able to rape him wit the 400ex

Never seen a drx im talkin like 250cc and up motocross style bikes. A CRF250 would wipe my 400 up with a dirty rag and I have hung with a 450R and KFX700 in a 1/4 mile. Yes they beat me but the point is my little 400 kept up and to them its ONLY a 400 lmao hahahaha:devil: 400's rule:blah:

lmao sorry that was just kinda funny at the end.

I grew up on dirtbikes and they have came along way in 4 stroke tech.

the dr200 is a very smooth reliable starter bike (far from fast)
with your cam/pipe it shouldnt even be close

your double his cc's and it will more than make up for the weight dissadvantage

as far as the 400 hanging with a 450r or 700r for a 1/4 mile???????????????????
---------------I AM CALLING B.S.-------------------

they will all be topped out by the 1/8th mile so your saying the top speed of the 400 is compairable to the 450/700?

I have a 400ex, trx450, yfz450 and as much as I love my ex it is not on the same level as the 450's

Not starting an arquement on someones thread about a question, thats all you ppl do is arque about who or what is faster. Yes I have ridden them in 1/4 450 was about 3 links ahead and 700 was about 2 ahead of him.

I had holeshot that is where I kicked *** off the line I was almost 5 bikes on them. Almost flipped over as it was on pavement.

As far as the rest either pm me or whatever as like I said dont wanna ruin the topic of the orignal poster.

yeah i am not talking about a good dirtbike, lol his DR200 is like a little starter dual sport. i just wasnt sure because usually, as it was said earlier, they are faster most of the time. but i am pretty sure i can take him, plus he weighs like 230 and i weigh like 160.

LOL! (I own 2 ex's, so, it's ok to LOL).

I think you'd spank the DR200 though.

what about a crf230f?

my friend has one and a grizz and thinks nothing around will beat it lol. i know i could if i 416 mine and do the work i was thinking of but i do not know about that now, after riding mine in the current mods...it is pretty fast.

had a friend with a grizzly, it may be close

I rode it but didnt race anyone, it didnt have a hit but did pull steady to the top

biggest thing was how smooth the thing was, kind of like driving a boat on rolling waves it just kind of glides over small bumps
(and from sport quads to grizzly ha ha the grizz seems like it has some acreage) sp

I think the crf150/230/250/450 would all get the best of ya
my son use to lay waste to my friends 400ex's on his little cr80

i think if i did my 416 11:1, stage 2 cam i would take a 230.

thats a guess, based on how fast i think mine would run now + more lol.

the crf 230 is not an R. its a trail bike wit the crf name. its heavy and big and air cooled. i would think you should beat it

your right the 230 isnt the same design as the others

its a pig and you will beat him easy

the race bikes are a crf-r designation. they also have the crf150 and crf230 dont have the extra "r" at the end to distinguish them from the race bikes
