what are the differences in the 04 and 06 frames besides the rear brake fluid holder and the relay and regulator for the wiring harness in the front?

i heard u have to have a chain roller relocator or you will break chains.

reason for asking is i will be switchin my frame from a 06 bike to a 04 frame. but i can handle the brake and wiring issue but idk bout the chain roller deal.

The roller re-locator was a must have item for all years, when you add long travel.
It's a bolt on item from PEP, walsh or a few others.

You are already aware of the other differences.

BTW......... I pulled everything off our new 2006 YFZ and bolted it to our 2004 gusseted frame with no problems. I just zip-tyed the extra resistors to the frame, at first, then I bought a gutted race wire harness that eliminated them.

just depends on what type of riding you do. i don't have chain rollers on my yfz but it's a tt bike and sits a lil low...

my rear setup is stock swingarm and linkage. i race mx and my chain roller now is still like new and its a 06.

i was just wonderin if the upper chain roller was mounted lower to were id have to use a relocator in order to use my 06 rear end

well mine is a 2004 and in stock trim when i was running cross county. the chain chewed mine up and the bearing on the inside was pretty much gone... so i'd say go ahead and get the relocate kit and see how it does..

but it should do you some good..
