86 head gasket question

hey guys i just about got my 250r tuned up.
but now all was good untill i changed thestock head gasketwith a cr gasket noied even n the stock gasket some of the ports are blocked by the gasket even with the cr gasket they were blocked
so should i knocked themout so itwould cool better or not .

they act like a thermostat to keep the water from flowing too fast. Dont mess with them there suppose to be that way.

The larger holes go over the exhaust port, smaller holes on the intake side.
