Hey guys. What do you think of this truck? Is it too many miles(76k) for a new truck for me? Keep in mind its a desiel? Anything to look out for? What about price?

Thanks guys!

This is just my opinion but the drivetrain warranty will be going out on that truck in just 24k miles.

$27 k is a lot to finance if anything were to take a dump on that motor, which in my opinion is one of the worst diesel engines in a one ton truck. Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but don't they have to remove the cab from the frame to remove the heads?

Take it for what it's worth, but if it were my money I'd spend 3k more and get something with less miles if you're getting a F250.

x2- and I'm pretty sure they DO have to detach it from the frame just to get to the heads.

I would say no...sorry bud. An F-250 might just be a good decision on your part. Are you pretty set on a diesel for some reason?

since its a HD edition the price is close to right, if not a little too much for a 4-5 year old truck

these are great for just about anything you want with a few mods

the price is right on par with everything up for sale around here and its an 05 so as long as your not like most of us and beat the hell out of your vehicles you should be perfectly fine to 200,000+ miles no doubt. my neighbor has a non harley edition 05 with 190,000 from towing his boat and camper and so far no issues

Hey thanks for the advice! I'm actually stuck between an F150 and F250. I'm a Ford guy for years, so thats my only option. I think I'll need a larger(towing) truck in years to come, but think it might be closer to 2 years before I do. So...with that in mind, I'm thinking of going with a newer F150.

I looked at one yesterday, it was an 07-08? and only had 18k miles. Has a 6 year/100k warranty. Larriat. Nice truck with the 5.4L, for about the same money as that F250(or 2 grand less). So its a tough call.

f250 with diesel will def do great with towing but the f150 with the 5.4 wont do to bad either. My pap got a 07 f150 5.4 pretty much loaded 11,000miles for 16,900 but after warranty and tax and what not it was like 18,900. 6 months later and is still doing great has to tow about once a week.

cool. Thats what I'm thinking. I've found a nice 150, but it needs a few things.

Anyone have any opinions on these items(brands/styles)??

Billet grilles? ---Thinking carriage works
Wheels? ---Dick Cepek DC-1 wheels
Tonneau Cover? ---Access
Exhaust? ---Flowmaster 50

why not chevy?Henry Ford dies and goes to Heaven.
At the gate, St Peter tells Henry Ford: "Well, you've been such a good guy, invented the car, changed the world. As a reward you can hang out with anybody in Heaven of your choice."
So Henry Ford thinks about it and says: "I would like to hang out with God himself?"
So St Peter takes him directly to God's thrown and Henry Ford starts by saying: "God, I don't want to sound biased, but you have some major design flaws in Your invention, the Woman.
1. There's too much front end protrusion
2. It chatters at high speeds
3. The rear end wobbles too much
4. The intake is too close to the exhaust."
"MMMMM" says God and goes over to the Celestial Super Computer, types in a few key strokes, and waits for the results.
He then turns to Henry Ford and says; "It may be that My invention is flawed, but according to the stellar computer more men are riding My invention then your's

my work truck is a ford with a 5.4 and its a dog. my personnel truck is a dodge with the 5.9 and its a beast. but my next truck will be a diesel. i think that biodiesel is where its at for the future. i would but it. when i go to mn. in the summer to go fishing and pull my boat i only get 8 mpg. but my brother gets 20 mpg with his diesel. my friend has a power stroke and its crazy banks intercooler and controller. just buy it.
