Anybody with experience please compare the XR with the HRC cams in the 400ex. Powerband, torque, throttle response, stuff like that.

Thank you

In the October 2001 ATV Sport in the "Wrench This" section a guy is asking about the XR cam. Mike Penland responds and says, "The biggest help increasing the powerband is the TC Racing Cam." You may want to check it out.

Mike penlands a crap for brains if ya ask me,,saying a 416, 426, 440 built 400ex won't even come close to a stock raptor in one of the issues,,,I think he's been sniffin to much kawasaki gas fumes. the HRC cam will probably give you a little more kick,,but the cost is more than double of a XR400 cam.

I thought the same thing when he said that. You could beat a Raptor with one of them setups.

I think Penlands wrong about Raptors too! My sons LT80 beats'em! How does he do it? Well, he finds a guy riding a 2001.... rides behind it for awhile, and just when the transmission blows, he makes his move!:D

Seriously, two of my friends have Raptors that have lost their trannys! And let me tell you, one of the guys babies his! I am so glad I bought my 400!!!
