Hours vs mileage

Looking at a 2003 Polaris 500 4x4. Has 282 hours on the meter. How does that equate to mileage??

It all depends on how he rode it. If he was slow going a lot and averaged about 5mph, he would have close to 1500 miles. But if he was quicker for a 10mph average, he would be near 3000 miles. But not knowing how he rode it, I would guess it has a min of 1500 miles.
