I am getting my cylinder bored on Mon. to a 416 with 11:1. So far I have 450r carb, stage 2 HC, HMF slip on, uni, and the sparks timing key. I am not taking the key out and was wondering how many others guys run the key with 11:1. I was going to run 105/ 93 octane mix.

Should be interesting to see what happens. Try running 93 and see what happens worst case is that you have to dump in some octane booster or race gas. I know my solution to higher octane pour a little bit of 112 octane in with 93 probally for a 5 gallon tank about .75 of a gallon 112 mixed with 4.25 gallons of 93 should get you up around 100. 112 is readily available at paint stores and most hardware stores but shhhh keep it on the down low lol. Seriously though they sell it but its not listed as a fuel, I would like to thank Honda for this contribution to the World 1st using it in a motors back in the 80's their F1 cars running 5 bar turbos! They had to mix in a solution that wasnt event combustable to be fair and detune but still made 1000HP/Liter.

I do as well, the engine does run noticeably warmer with the key. Run atleast 100 octane, do NOT try to run pump gas with 11:1 and the key. Installing a fan would also be a good idea--your engine will thank you.

Also, do NOT run octane booster, it is crap.

Figured I'd update this thread as well. The extra engine heat and timing caused a slight mid range ping--even on 100 octane.

I removed the key today and installed a modified stock key in place of it. I put the stock key in a milling machine and shaved .030 off it to create a 4* advance.

i've been waiting for this to happen. Its really simple to do and you can make it w/e advance or retard you want using the stock key.
