on my stock 300. Any tips that I should know about before getting into it? And no, I don't have a manual. It looks pretty straight forward, but cutting the chain with a hacksaw looks like it will be a PITA.

You don't have to cut the chain. There is a master link on the chain with a clip on it. Just use needle nose pliers to get it off.

to replace the sprocket just remove the wheel then 4 bolts from the sprocket and slide it off.

I was told that there wasn't a master link on the chain

and whoever told you that is correct. On the 300, there is no master link on the stock chain. Just find someone with a grinder and cut it off.

Get a chain tool, use it to push the pin out on the stock chain. Remove chain, then change sprocket.

The new chain will be longer than you need. Use the chain tool to push the pin out and shorten the new chain (measure it on the bike), insert master link then adjust chain.

So just cut the chain anywhere?

If you scrapping the old chain then it doesn't matter where you cut it. The manual says you are supposed to remove the whole swingarm but if your new chain has a master link than its not necessary. just remember to loosten the chain adjuster as much as you can before installing the new chain.

Does anyone have a picture of a rear sprocket on the bike? I want to make sure I have it on the correct way.

only goes on one way. Otherwise the bolts wont fit. The nuts are supposed to be on the outside edge closest to the tire.

I'm wondering about how the rear sprocket sits. I took it off but wasn't paying attention to it. I'm wondering about the bolts that sit on the inside.

I just need a picture of how the rear sprocket sits.

My bolts don't sit that flush into the sprocket. Anyone know the correct ft/lbs of torque?
