The only reason that one is so shiney is causee it belongs to Chris Waters. Everything he has is shiney. His was red then he stripped it and buffed and polished the crap outta it.

He did a great job.

yes you can shine up your stock covers but it takes ALOT of time and the right tools.

No they dont make one for the other side. Just the clutch side cause it is made to where you dont have to remove the whole clutch cover and instead jus the round part.

How much time are we talking here... like couple hours. And could you just get that kit everyone uses to polish there ATV parts at sears? And what would i use to strip it, i heard this airplane stuff over at Blaster HQ worked good.

If you dont know a lot about polishing I wouldnt try to polish the cases!! I have a buffer and all the compunds and tools needed to do it and I still gave up!! Its a dirty job!!! I decided to just have mine powdercoated! The Hinson covers are pretty expensive!

Not only does it take time to polish correctly, but it takes a lot of time for maintenance. Bare aluminum subjected to the elements will start to oxidze and dull. One way around this is to clear coat it, but you lose a small percentage of the shine when you do that. There is definitely a lot of elbow grease needed in maintaining polished aluminum. If you know anyone in your area that has a sportbike that has any polished parts on it, or even a shop that does polishing, talk to them about it. I had some parts on my old sportbike polished, and I will never do it again! The best thing to do if you want that chrome look is to have it chromed, but that obviously costs more money.
