lexan/hdpe skids?

anyone ever try this or seen it done?
i was thinking about trying to make my own skids this stuff is real hard
i seen a guy on 450r forum used hockey rink plastic which gave me the idea
any input would help

Are you talking the clear plastic stuff that is used as windows in race cars? I've tried that stuff as the windshield in my Charger. I had lots of problems with it cracking around the bolt holes. I know the stuff can take a good hit, not sure about a rock under a atv though.

yea that or the white plastic board they use for like cutting boards

I'm not sure either would be very good. Both of those are very strong and rigid to a point. If you go past that point they break. I think what you would want is an ABS plastic of some type. Fairly strong but can be bent with no ill effects.
