Does any one have a quick easy way to remove them from the a-arms. I'm trying to do it right now. Any help would be great.

take the nut off a little bit and try to give them a hit with a rubber mallot. or take off the nut and hit the arm. The stock ones are hard to get out. you may have to hit them with bigger hammer to get them out. Thanks honda#4 for the bigger hammer idea. I am talking to him on im. I have never actually done it. steve

Its definently a two man job, atleast thats what I had to do cuz it was a royal pain getting them off. What I did was put the castle nuts on flush to prevent the threads from getting damaged and hit the top part of the balljoint with a rubber mallot and it should fall out, it helps if another person is holding the arms to take some pressure off them should make them easier to come out.

I took the whole a arm assembly off to do it this way.

Helps to spray some PB Blaster to make things slide out easier also.

no need to use a torch on it. LOL, it should come off if you unbolt everything around and let it fall a bit. try not to let it go all the way throuh but it is not a big deal since it can be ran easily again anyway. steve

wat i did is i took the aarms completely off and took it to the local motorcycle shop and they had a ball joint fork or watever its called takes about 4 seconds each give or take a couple seconds but its better than screwing up the aarms.

i had the same problem last week then a mechanic came over and showed me a trick. i used a 3 pound mini sledge and i hit the side of the spindle where the bolt goes through.DONT hit the bolt cause itll eff it up. but to get it to work you really have to hit it hard and if you hit it dead on you wont dent anything.ill try and post a pick tomorrow to show where you gotta hit it.

hes talking about loosening the castle nut so when it breaks free the aarm wont just hit the ground and when you do this you leave your aarms on the bike

A pickel fork is what dobber is talking about very fast and easy way to remove them.

I just sprayed PB Blaster on mine tonight when I was aligning it. It came right out with a few squirts and a light tap with the visegrips.

hitting the side of the spindle is definately the best way so you dont ruin your threads or tear your dust boot with a pickle fork.

I ended up leaving one of the nuts on and putting a socket that has bigger end which the pin would fit all the way tell the socket got to the spindle, then the smaller end that the nut can push against and then just finished loosening the nut tell it popped out, worked great. then repeat buy replacing the other nut to do the other side. It took 3 seconds.

Ill take a pic if any one needs it.
