Alright, I won't lie I'm definitely no mechanic. In the past 3 months I have replaced almost every part on my '03 400ex. It now has a 440 Big bore kit with Stage 2 Hotcam and Namura Sleeve. I have rebuilt the carb, had the head ported and polished (the head is also brand new), it has a new LSR axle and bearing carrier, new rear hubs, works shocks, EBC Clutch kit with new titanium clutch cable, a new set of Cometic gaskets, new weisco piston and rings, new sprocket and chain, uni filter. I'm sure I'm forgeting things....Everything on this bike has gone bad! After riding it for 2 days, it died. I have replaced the startor and spark plug. It has been through 3 batteries in 3 weeks. I was wondering if perhaps it was the voltage rectifier? When I press in the button to start it up it just makes a clicking sound, but the headlight still works. Any ideas? There isn't much left on this bike that could possibly go wrong...I hope... Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Have you tried replacing the battery cables. It sounds like you have short that is killing your batteries. My uncles had some what the same problem.

it's either a short like stated above. or your starter solinoid is going out and that is causing you to think your batteries are dead when they are not.
