I just ordered a new rear bearing housing from lonestar that has double bearings. Thinking that my rear race had been melted onto my rear sprocket hub I began banging away at it and then after getting out the torches I think that it was my rear sprocket hub? It doesn't seem that the rear sprocket hub will come off? I don't want to buy a new rear axle am I screwed?

The sprocket hub usually needs to be pressed off

its cheaper to buy a g force axle than a new stock and unless you know a good machine shop and have a good connection on honda parts then your skrewed. just go get you a g force, like 180 shipped on ebay.

Ok so I couldn't get a new hub on there cause the axle is fine...We just cut the inner bearing off the axle because it was welded to the sprocket hub and axle from all of the heat.

What is the problem with the hub....

I dont think anything I just cant where the hub starts and the melted bearing begins. I really think its fine I will go take some pics for you all and see...

I believe that sprocket hub is ruined. I am almost positive there is a "lip" on the inside of the sprocket hub, that the carrier seals rides onto. By the looks of it, its gone/chewed away.

Yea we torched that off If someone had a pic of what it looks like that would be great looks like I'm going to have to buy a sprocket hub...

Any suggestions on how to get the old sprocket off? Which sprocket hub should I buy?

I had the exact situation you are in last week. Here is the cheapest hub i could find: http://www.magicracing.com/Durablue-Steel-Sprocket-Hub--TRX250R400EX_p_1357.html

The dealer tells me the stock hub only comes with the axle which is BS. But everywhere else i look wants 120-140 and most of them are aluminum.
My old one was aluminum and when the bearings went bad it got chewed up much faster than a steel one would have.

Yea I am looking at the g force axle and hub off ebay for $168 that minus the headache of pressing that bad boy off and on and I think my mind is made up...

My hub came right off. The only hard part was the huge snap ring that holds it on.

jaredbeast you have an aftermarket axle. you prolly didnt even know but with a snap ring on the hub yeah its not stock prolly g force or lonestar from what ive seen. does it have extra long splines? spacers that go on the splines? maybe there gone... im almost 100% you have an aftermarket.

blaster axles are the same, it took 10,000+ to remove the one on the blaster axle too. fixed the problem and sold that 2 stroke pile of ****. and was more than happy to see it go.
