so i went to qaud tech's web site looking for a hood for my 03 400ex and the hoods dont say what kind of bike its for it just says Honda. are they all universal?

Quad Tech does not make them for a 400ex anymore. Look on ebay and in classified sections. Thats probably your best bet.

Ya good look on flea bay.. the last 2 I saw selling brand new the guys wanted 300 bucks... FORGET THAT.. only other thing to do is convert your plastics like the 450r style... and then get ur hood.. but ur still going to spend 300 bucks.. and then some.. i still love my ol ex though..
