Here's a dyno run of a completely stock 2009 DRX 50. I was impressed with how it ran out of the box. All those older 50's will definitely need some motor work to keep up with the new ones!

Nice looking run, it should put the old o6 on the trailer.

What features do you associate the change with?

Is the air bleeder on the head on the side instead of the top on this unit?

I'm not sure where the air bleeder is. I'd say the carb is the big advantage here, to be in a limited stock class with a 16mm vs. a 21mm carb is just not fair.

Quadscrib, I going to try and come see the race on Sunday. should be a good track from what I hear. Maybe I'll see you all then.

So basically the difference between the 2008 motor and the 2009 is the carb? I thought the motors were the same except the carb. Do you think the bigger carb would make that much difference?

I would take the small carb over the bigger carb everytime.

Our 50 outruns all the 50s with the bigger carbs in our series.

Must be something else making the difference.

Back in Buddys 50 days, we were always one step ahead of the competition.................with a 16mm carb.

just to let everyone know the 50 09 cases are different internally

I'm sure we'll get into the motor later this year or next year. The carb also say's PWK but doesn't look like a Keihin casting. The 09 was practically driven from the dealer to the dyno so the fresh piston helped. We even ran it with the stock snorkel intake tube which is also much larger now.

I'm going to watch this one race today, I'll look for more differences.
