i know thats pretty fast. some of them have cr250 motors in them. i was thinking about getting an 80cc motor and making a frame. me and my dad used to make go-carts and we once put a 110cc 3-wheeler motor in an odyssey frame. i think it would be fun.

yeah you can buy them ready to go. it depends on if you want an 80, 125, or 250 cc one. like 2,000 to 5,000.

i have to get some pix of my uncles shifter kar it has the motor out of his old lt250 in it... this kart is sick does about 130 and 0-90 in like 4 seconds

I used to race shifter carts. In the 100cc modified class. But i gave it up 3 years ago to race quads,i like the air ;) Iv seen some nasty crashes while i was racing karts. My first year,we were at a track around wichita KS. And they didnt have any fences, just bails. And there was a barbed wire fence atliest 100 foot away so they werent worried, a guy blew a corner, Blasted right through the bails and his neck caught the barbed wire fence. Took his head off, no joke. I only saw a lil bit and i turned around and threw up, it was too much for me to take, you could see the helmet and the head inside of it tumbling down the hill. It was very very disturbing. Karts are cool,and ALOT cheaper than quads, but wrecking or flipping a kart is worse than wrecking a quad.

I was watchin you gotta see this a while ago and saw some guy on a shifter cart do a frontflip. He didnt mean to. He was racing then hit somethin and did a frontflip. It was awsome

that is crazy i wouldnt be able to take that either i dont think...

my best friend has 2 shift carts, we take em up and down the road all the time pullin wheelies and raising heck cause they are both allmost straight piped, freakin loud!!! my cart is just a modified 5horse brigs runnin off alky or high octan race fuel, she flies, and yes peices fly when the freakin clutches go out and fly into roughly 30 peices of hot metal landing on your lap but o well mine does about 55-60mph and my buddies shift carts run a little over 120-130mph

yea man i had one of those. i raced provincial pro class then i gave it up mine had a KTM 250 in it. and that thing was balls. the traction gave a g-force that would stick you to your seat. and they handled so tight you could go around hairpins at around 35kmh (if you could take the g-forces_ you had to be strapped in tight man! mine had a custom drag type pipe instead of the conventional pipe and silencer. friggin thing WAS nuts lol i streetraced it once lol. those ricers intimidated me when i was right beside them in a little car with you *** an inch from the ground lol fun stuff tho. bad injuries from crashes tho cause your strapped in and cant get out so basically if they flip, there on top of you.

lol, those things are a blast, My cousins are really into it and last summer I would go with them to all the races and they'd let me take em' on the track after the races. Those things are so awsome and it feels so cool that low to the ground going that fast. That and your sitting right by the motor and its shaking you and the g forces. Those things are a blast but I think qaud RACING is funner.

my kart.. its the briggs animal.. it flies, somewhere round 50 or greater. this pic is from summer. Its together now, in storage till spring. Its basicly got a straight exaust on it
