Me and a buddy (ltrracer665) were talkin about this, Anyone notice that three pros have broke three dominator axles in three weeks? bad batch or just unusual bad luck?

Which pros? If you mean Wimmer, you might want to check around. I don't think he broke a Dominator. Pretty sure he was testing on a new axle.

i had a rpm d2, and had bent it 3 times in a row, after having it straightened by rpm. and after the 3rd time i had asked them to test it and they somehow messed up on the heat treatin of the axle.

i dont think its that i think its a combination of how hard these guys are riding and how much more air time there is on the tracks compared to previous years

From looking at the pics....Lawson was hammering his quad hard core.

I'd chalk it all up to bad luck and bad timing

Wimmer's axle broke because his axle nut fell off in the air.

i wouldnt call it a bad batch, i would just call it an axle. those 1" bars that we call axles just can't hold up to the abuss of 600lbs landing on them. in the last 3 or so years, i've bent about 5-6.

I still don't think it was a Dominator axle.

There's got to be much more force than 600 lbs on some impacts, don't you think? But I def agree.

awhile back someone did the math of exactly how much pressure is being exerted on an axle on a landing. but i cant remeber who or what thread.
but it was well over 1000ibs.

There's probably around 600lbs coming down on it, but the with the velocity that the 600lbs is traveling and coming into contact with a solid surface makes for one he*l of a force.

Wienen's break wasn't a bad batch.. he hit HARD.

Those axles can break with enough force. I snapped a dominator a couple years ago landing about 85' to flat. As dumb as it may sound I was more proud that I snapped an RPM than upset I couldnt ride for a week. :p

oh ya. it turns into way more then 600-1000. i was just saying with the 400lbs quad + and average 170-200lbs ridder.

they say like when your about to get into a wreck and the mom always tryies to put her arm over the kid to try to hold them back. a small kid turns into a couple of hundered lbs. imagen what 600lbs turns into when it hits a flat surface that ISNT going to move.

I know first hand that axles break. ive bent 8 axles, and broke 2 in my history of racing. All im saying is that it is uncommon to see this out of the pros. it is possible to have a bad batch of axles, which would result in such an event

i agree with the LSR. i had one on my KFX and rode that thing rough and took MANY MANY hard flips. my girl friend even slammed it into a tree at 65mph and the axle was the only thing left! lol. my after i get tired of always shipping these RPM's back to get straitened i'll move to LSR. (matter of fact, i'm waiting for an RPM to show up soon, i sent one off for straitening about a month ago)
