I have the key about parallel to the crank. The red is away from the engine and the grove is towards the rear of the quad. The grove is slightly below the crank, is that ok? Thanks

i did my install just a couple days ago and thats how mine went in!! i just made sure it was evenly set in the key slot and lined up the key slot with the flywheel!! just make sure when you put it back that the fly wheel is turned to the left like the HOW TO guide tells you too!!

Yeah i slid the flywheel on but couldn't really turn it much.

Could it be seated too low in the notch?
