Difference in blaster carriers

What is the difference in the older blaster carriers like 88-02 and the 03- up blaster carriers? I know the 03 and up have disc brakes but what is the actual difference in the carriers? Will the carrier bearings for a 98 fit in an 03 carrier?

the carriers are the same with the exception of how the rear brake calipers bolts up
