We went riding again at Bear Creek near Canton, OH again yesterday. 50% of every one there rides a 400ex. I'm not sure if the sound from behind the bike sounds much different then on the bike RPM wise . It seems like everyone keeps way down in the RPMs where I ride very high. I regularly hit the stock rev limiter in low traction areas, and normaly shift maybe 1000rpm before it. Is the sound coming from the back sound much slower then on it?

trails I will lug it in tight spots i just dont like revving mid range for miles. for racing upper RPM i'll rev it all the way out usually hit the rev limiter or right before i go to slow into a turn just keep it in 1 gear if you can and you can go pretty fast

midrange is mostly where i ride. on the trails i lug it in 5th when i can to keep the temps down. Otherwise, if i am just ripping it is all over the map since i am riding harder. steve

me and my buddies go to the badlands in attica indiana. they got it all. woods, rock trails, sand dunes, and a mx track. you can take quads on the track as well. its like $20 a day. they also have camp grounds if you wanna go riding multiple days. it used to be an old rock quarrey. its a blast. you can tear up the dunes with a 400ex!!!

I have the trailtech vapor so im able to moniter what rpm's im running at.
Under normal riding circum stances, im usually around the mid range 5100-6800, when racing or running hard Im anywhere from 7000-9000.

I don't push it to the rev limiter, theres no sense in that. The 400ex makes its peak power at 6500 or 7500 rpm. After that it stops making good power.

Not to change the subject but do you need an off road sticker for you bike to ride there? Also do they allow 4wd trucks?

I was just curious how everyone else rode. Seems to be the norm.

Are you talking about Bear Creek? They only allow quads, bikes, and small buggies/go carts. It's a old hillbilly that runs the place. He only cares that he gets his $15 and you have a helmet. No speeding or doing anything stupid in the parking lot. Real nice guy that runs the place.
