quads doing something crazy

alright i need help bad im pretty sure its carb related but idk what to do....ok so here is my problem i had a race the other day and i got the holeshot and was fixing to hit the first double, and i cracked the throttle and it bogged baddddd... and i caseed it well i kept giving it gas and it eventually bogged itself to death.. restarted it and it ran fine till i cracked the throttle again.. did it the whole race, i dont have a clue whats going on.. it bogs every time i get on the throttle.. im lost guys.. some ppl has said maybe trash in the float bowl? or bad plug ? or maybe the needle valve is got trash? what do i do?

sounds like the carb.was it jetted different for winter or something?try giving it a good cleaning and see if that works.

it was jetted for my pipe and open airbox and ran great for a while now its running very weird?

If your bogging down its sucking it dry of gas when hitting the gas hard.

Try going up in jet size or pull the needle out farther. That is the prob though.

If you have changed nothing on the quad and all of a sudden it has started doing this, i bet one of the jets has been clogged with some sort of debris. Clean the hell out of it and see if that fixes it.

Those symptoms also sound like it is being robbed of air. My buddies quad was jetted for no air box lid, one day we put the lid back on and it did what you are describing, it would idle fine but if you gave it gas it would bog.

My did that one time and the air intake boot was loose. I guess from all the bouncing around. Also how clean was the filter?

check your valves, mine was doing similar once and my exhaust valves were to tight.

I had similar problem when I hit a jump and landed flat. It jarred my intake boot a bit so it was sucking air.

alright guys ill try everything thanks alot for all the help.. this problem nearly got me killed at my last race.. it was running fine then no sooner i hit the 50ft double it bogged out and shorted the jump and went over the bars landing on my head.. had a concussion and a lil bit of memory loss.... dang 400's lol

i doubt this is your problem but it would be best case scenario. this happened when i left the choke on haha.

nooo i checked that lol it was my first check and i made sure the gas was on
