A little back ground first. I installed a Curtis Sparks 6* timing key and a X-6 full exhaust system last week. I ordered a Jet kit from Jets-R-Us plus 5 different slow/pilot jets. (two smaller and three larger than the stock 38) The are all Keihin Jets.
I jetted the Carb yesterday. I put in a 42 piolt for obvious reasons. :) Sparks Racing suggested a 155 Mian. I ended up with a 165 to get a light tan/brownish color on a New DPR9Z plug gapped at .025. .(For those that do not know that is, it is the cold plug from Honda for the 400ex) and I left the neddle in its stock position.
This thing runs like a rapped ape at WOT, you can just feel the torque pull you, but from about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle it just feels kinda flat. I don't get that strong overwhelming pull of torque like at WOT.
Any Ideas? You guys think I might need to go down a notch on the needle? Little more fuel? Since that is the 1/4 to 3/4 throttle circuit.
