can anyone tell me if and where banshees are banned? are they just not selling them anymore? only banned in certain parks and states?..... i heard they stopped production of them? is there any truth to this? god i hope not.. well i have a chance to trade my 2000 440ex.. modded, for a 98 banshee, pretty much stock. is this a good deal, i have always wanted a banshee, and even modded my ex just dont have CRAZY power, and i cant really afford a 450... so i can trade str8 up with a guy for this banshee.. does that sound good, i'm gonna do it tuesday i think....

They stoped making them in the US they still sell them in canada and overseas. They are fun as hell to ride not the greatest for trails but with a good rider they can run a banshee in the trails like the rest of the thumpers out there.

so, they dont make em in the us anymore... do they sell em still? any idea why they did this? i read somewhere because theyre 2 strokes, but they must still sell cr's and yz's 2 stroke bikes in the us, so it dont make sense that its because they're a 2 stroke unless they banned alot of 2-wheels also

its because the emmison thing the banshee's give off more smoke than little 250 and 125 engines do

it is an enviromental thing...banshee is descent but i would stick with the 400 unless you want a change. a banshee needs more TLC than anEX.

x2^ especially because you already have a 440 in it..if you cant make up your mind check out the "400 or 250r or banshee" forum in the 400ex section it helped me from making a MAJOR mistake!!!

2006 was the last year for the Banshee and Blaster in the USA due to EPA emission standards.

You can still ride the ones already built.

They sold them in 07 and 08 in Canada but not in 09

They still sell a 2009 in Europe

You're kidding me, right? MAJOR mistake? Dude you've never even ridden one. This is what I was afraid of, all these honda communist's bringing into the honda bandwagon.:o

coryatver's info is correct. Parts are still being made and will be made for years.
But you can find a better trade then that. If yours is a 440 you should be able to find a 2000+ banshee. If so then I say do it! Nothin like a screamin shee.

they are not banned just stopped making them, cuz of there oil usage and emission's.

They even stopped making 2stroke boat engine's, and i even saw a few weed-eaters going 4stroke

Except for Bombardier, they are making the E-tec 2-stroke outboard motor which is actually supposed to produce 50% or so less emissions then a similar 4-stroke outboard, or somethin like that.

2-Strokes have a lot of potential to burn cleaners and produce more power, I don't get why they cant see this (the manufactures)

not alot of time, money, reasearch has been put into 2 stroke engines like they(manufactures) have dropped into 4 strokes. 2 strokes can be made to run a lot cleaner tha even the cleanest 4 stroke.

i wouldnt mind try'n a EFI set up on my 2 stroked tri-z & blaster project
