Well, before researching, I bought some ten paddle paddle wheels on ebay for my 400ex. My bike is set up nicely, but I suspect not nice enough to pull ten paddles. I only plan to use them once or twice a year, so I went with what was available. I ended up with some straight paddles.

Now, I don't really want to resell them. Is there any "modification" that can made to them in order that they can be used a few times a year.

I was thinking about trimming down a few of the paddles, to make some of them a little less aggressive.

Otherwise, does anyone need some 10 paddle tires on rims. I am not using this as the for sale forum. I'd prefer to keep them if I can.

:)

i think you can shave down the paddles a little

I might try that. Anyone ever done that, or know someone who did?

never known anyone who has, but i do know it should definitely help. IMO even 8 paddles is too much for a 400... 6 to 7 is good, but i hear ya on the availability; i run 8's on both of mine, cuz the price was right.

I have 10 paddle haulers for my 416. I just put a front sprocket that is 1 tooth smaller and it pulls them pretty good. I deff always get the holeshot, but it does struggle up the hill once I click out of 3rd. It wouldn't pull 4th with 7 paddles that I had either though. I like my 10 paddles on the 400.

i would not try and cut the paddles or trim them at all. paddles hold their value pretty good so i would either try them or sale them and buy some 7 or 8 paddles.

You might be able to put like some sort of a pattern in it. Like put groves in the paddle or something.

WAIT !!!!!! Dont cut of modify them

what make/ model tire did you buy ? what size are they ?
what rim are they on ?

If they are Skat Trak's, are they standards, bead to bead or SLS' ?

Are they standard paddles, extremes or kevlar reinforced ?

If you can get most of your money back out of them, maybe that's the thing to do. Otherwise....

You can modify them to precisely suit your needs. And if all you're doing is lowering the paddles' height, it shouldn't be toooo much work.

I cut the heck out of these SandSharks to make them what I wanted.

Funny thing is, I haven't even received them from the seller yet. They are Scat Trac straight paddles, but nit sure of the ply, or any other specifics besides the size. I'll see what they look like (supposed to be in great shape). Maybe I'll take them with me to the dunes and see if I can sell them. I'd hate to cut up some good tires.

when you get them, post up what it says on the paddle. if they are big enough and the right price i might take them.
