Pretty Sure its Water in the gas had a issue a few weeks ago it died then ran fine then the other night i put some dry gas in and it ran better than it has in a year but tonight it died 4 times on me wouldnt idle and kept backfireing nonstop. Gonna take the tank off in the morning dump it in a bucket and take teh carb off to clean it and put a new spark plug in

I would say its the breather hose for your tank cap the hose that goes into the steering stem I have heard of people wasing them or splash in in water will fill that stem with water and the tank draws it in you can buy those short hoses with the check valves in them for 6 bucks and they look good. That or you bought some crappy gas.

i bet its the vent hose for sure..this happen with me...i litterley replaced almos the intire top end of the motor before i realized and found the problem....i lost it on the the little cap lol.. stupid thing...try it!
